A VERY SPECIAL VENUE FOR OUR SATURDAY & SUNDAY GALA-MILONGAS

The Chapel at Jean-de-Brébeuf College

3200 Chemin de la Côte Ste-Catherine, Montréal, H3T 1C9
metro station Côte-des-Neiges or Bus 129

Our Saturday AND Sunday evening Gala Milongas will take place here

Built in 1927 after designs of the church of Saint-Apollinaire-le-Neuf in Ravenna, Italy, The Chapel at Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf is “an architectural gem worthy of admiration”. During renovations in 2003-2004, the original columns, friezes, and other architectural details were carefully restored and enhanced. Eight mural works by artist René Derouin were permanently installed to celebrate the college’s 75th anniversary. The design and restoration work have won the Award of Merit from Canadian Architect magazine (1999), the 2004 ASHRAE prize, the 2005 Montreal Design Institute prize, the prize of excellence from the Order of Architects of Quebec (2005), and the Best of Canada Design Competition from Canadian Interiors magazine (2005). We were thrilled to be able to use this beautiful and elegant venue for the first time last year, and are excited to be returning this year!

Please note! The floor of this magnificent room is made of the original ceramic tiles that date back to the ‘20s! They are in very good condition (uniform, without cracks, very smooth). However, as a ceramic surface is harder than most of us are used to, we recommend bringing a pair of “comfortable” shoes for wear during your “end of evening” tandas.

GETTING AROUND MONTREAL is quite easy. Our studio is located on a bus route that operates 24 hours a day. The metro stations of Castelnau (on the blue line) and Jarry (orange line) are both just a few steps from our premises. Getting to the city center can take around 30 minutes, depending on the time of day and traffic. Taxis are not very expensive and are easy to hail on the street :-) We also have a bike-renting program (Bixi). Note: Due to traffic and detours, renting a car in Montreal is not recommended.
