Accommodations

All our classes plus some of the milongas will be held at the beautiful Tango Social Club/Studio Tango Montreal studios, located at 7755 boul. St-Laurent in the up-and-coming Villeray district.  The space is just across from Jarry Park and near many lovely restaurants and cafes, in a neighbourhood which is hip, lively and ultra-friendly.  Unfortunately, there are very few hotels nearby.  We suggest exploring  Airbnb for apartment rentals.  Search for something near Villeray, Little Italy, Jarry Park, or Jean-Talon Market.

If your preference is to stay in a hotel,  we suggest looking for one in the downtown sector.
Check out Hotels.caTravelocity.ca, Hotwire, etc for prices.

Transportation between the part of downtown and the studio location is incredibly easy. Buses run 24h and taxis are plentiful and inexpensive. Uber also operates in Montreal, but not Lyft.

A note here:  if you are traveling to Montreal by train, bus, or plane, then DO NOT bother renting a car - parking is a hassle and traffic can be horrid in Montreal. All of our locations are easily accessible by public transit. Taxis are inexpensive and can be hailed on the street.

We are putting a call out to see if any local people can host out-of-towners.

Send us an email  - no promises, but we will certainly try our best. Don't forget to mention: how many people you are, if you will need parking, if you are allergic to animals etc.  You could also try posting on our Facebook travel logistics page

Live in Montreal and have room to host a guest from out of town?

Your generosity will be greatly appreciated! Please post on our Facebook page and send us an email indicating if you have any pets, if parking is easy, if you are near public transportation, how many guests you can take, and what type of accommodation you can offer (i.e: separate room or not, bed or sofa or mattress etc.)

About Montreal

Montréal is a lovely tourist destination. Europeans find it to be North American in spirit, while many Americans find it to be a quick European-like getaway.

Montréal's blend of French culture, fantastic restaurants, and multicultural sophistication makes for a unique and incredibly charming place. Its architecture, sense of fashion, superb cuisine, and unique culture truly make Montréal a favoured destination.

One of the oldest North American cities (established in 1642),  Montréal is located on an island in the St-Lawrence Seaway. Montreal has beautiful neighbourhoods with tree-lined streets, little parks, squares, and sidewalk cafés all designed for taking a break and enjoying life.

The official language of Québec is French, however, Montréal has the highest number of bilingual (and indeed, trilingual) people in Canada. The metro (subway) is very easy to negotiate, and many of the buses in the central sector run all night long.
Montréal is famous for many things, from Montréal-style bagels and smoked meat, Sunday tam-tam drum jams on the mountain, many festivals including "Just for Laughs" and the "International Jazz Festival" as well as a weekly fireworks competition in the summer.  Montréal is also an inspiring city for learning and the arts, with more university students per capita than even Boston, a world-class symphony and numerous ballet companies.

We hope you enjoy your stay!
